Brad Pistole, CEO of Trinity Insurance & Financial Services, Inc., has received his certification in Medicare’s Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA). This achievement highlights Pistole’s dedication to offering critical retirement income planning information to his clients and community.

In a press interview, Brad Pistole underscored the significance of understanding IRMAA and its potential impacts on Social Security benefits and Medicare premiums. 

“This is critical retirement income planning information. This course is a must,” Pistole said, highlighting the necessity of education and proactive planning to avoid unnecessary taxes and surcharges.

The IRMAA certified planner program offers comprehensive training through 18 modules, covering Medicare’s IRMAA and its effects on social security. Participants learn investment strategies that mitigate IRMAA and can enhance their careers as financial professionals. The course is self-paced, allowing up to 12 months for completion.

“The number one thing that will separate you from the retirement of your dreams is taxes,” Pistole said. “Remember, it’s not how much you make. It’s how much you keep that counts.”

IRMAA is a surcharge assessed on Social Security benefits based on retirees’ income levels. Pistole says proper planning and mitigation are vital to insulate retirement plans from these surcharges. Pistole’s certification equips him with the knowledge to guide clients through this complex aspect of financial planning.

Pistole has an extensive background in financial services. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Arkansas Tech University in 1993 and holds Life, health, and P&C licenses in AR, AZ, FL, IA, KS, MO, OK, NC, SC, TN, TX, VA and WA.
