New Option for Families of Children with Learning Disabilities and Autism Opens in Champaign, IL
Champaign, IL – May 22, 2023 – Excel Prep, a private school based in Champaign, IL, is delighted to announce the opening of its full-day educational program catering to children in grades K-3. With a strong focus on nurturing neurodiverse students, Excel Prep aims to provide a supportive academic environment. Founder Landria Seals Green identified a lack of suitable options in the area for her family and many others, leading to the establishment of this specialized school for children with learning disabilities and autism.

Excel Prep focuses on students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as well as those without, offering programs for school district and parent referrals.
Excel Prep’s primary focus will be on children in grades K-3, with speech-language therapy offered as a daily class. “As the founder of Excel Prep and a dually certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), I understand the immense impact of targeted speech-language therapy and the effectiveness of precision teaching. Continuous analysis of learner progress and ongoing refinement of teaching methods are integral to our approach,” explains Seals Green.
The journey of Excel Prep has gained attention through Landria’s podcast, which delves into equity issues in education and clinical therapy services. “We are proud to reintroduce the concept of direct instruction to the Champaign-Urbana community. Those in the field recognize that the University of Illinois played a pivotal role in the development of this renowned progressive teaching method many years ago,” Seals Green remarks.
