“When the pandemic hit in 2020, we set out to design an online language learning program that would mimic the immersive methods that we had developed in our Spanish immersion preschool. This play-based approach maximizes the time that children spend practicing the language they are learning, and it motivates them to enhance their fluency,” stated Dr. Alvarado.

“Our teachers, singers, actors and content creators are fluent speakers from diverse backgrounds. This distinctive mix enables us to combine creative and practical approaches to language education with rigorous developmental processes, and to ensure that our programs deliver consistent, sustainable results for young learners.

The uniqueness of Little Language Adventures lies in its breakthrough “Play to Learn” approach to online language learning.

The first course, Spanish – Life in the Pond features a Latina teacher, named Nikole, who visits with Rana (Frog) and other animal friends. Utilizing an interactive format, Nikole introduces key vocabulary and invites kids at home to put their learning to use by playing and singing along. Each lesson is accompanied with a wealth of digital games, stories, worksheets, flashcards, art-projects, live Zooms classes, and sing-alongs. These resources, in combination with live weekly lessons, replicate the playful immersion environment that’s necessary for cultivating bilingualism in children.

Any child looking to learn a second language is welcome to enroll, regardless of his or her skill level in that language. Little Language Adventures currently offers courses in Spanish, and will introduce English and French courses in the upcoming months.
