Austin D. Nguyen and Marc Pomerleau Announces Upcoming Premiere of “Seeking Home” A Short Film Exploring Asian Identity in America
Austin D. Nguyen and Marc Pomerleau announce the upcoming premiere of their short film titled “Seeking Home“. The film tells the story of Marc’s exploration of Asian identity, the Asian immigrant experience, San Francisco Chinatown, and what it means for Asians to be home. The premiere will take place on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 7:00 PM PDT, at a private venue in San Francisco Chinatown and streamed live.
With the surge in anti-Asian hate crimes, this film could not have come at a better time. Seeking Home hopes to shift perspective and stimulate conversation through creating a better understanding of the story of Asians in this country.
“Creating Seeking Home in San Francisco Chinatown during the pandemic was a profound and deeply moving experience”, said Marc Pomerleau, film producer. “And while this is a story about Chinatown and Asians in America, Seeking Home is ultimately about the desire that resides in all of us to discover who we are and why we’re here. It’s about our shared longing to find our way to our true selves.”
The Seeking Home film premiere will start at 6:45 PM with Virtual Doors Open, while the film begins at 7:00 PM. After the show, there will be a Q&A session with the director and writer to share with the audience the inspiration, motivation, and process of making the film. The event will conclude by 8:00 PM.
