Last month, Calvine High School is one of a select group of schools in Northern California participating in Safety Center’s Teen-to-Teen Safe Driving Campaign, a program that incentivizes communities to get involved with safe driving educational programs for teens and young adults.

Calvine High School has a well-established reputation as a school focused on high-quality student learning that is committed to collaboration and innovative opportunities. These standards provide an excellent platform to promote distracted driving awareness by having students directly involved in prevention based conversations around distracted driving.

Participation in Safety Center’s safe teen driving program provides important safety education for children, teens and adults to keep them safe in the community, on the road and on the job. According to the Safety Center website, teen safe driving programs reduce teen car crashes by 66%.

By raising awareness with Safety Center’s Teen-to-Teen Safe Driving Campaign, Calvin High School students experienced life changing lessons about what can happen if they drive irresponsibly.

Students took part in activities that involved discussions with local driving experts, and hands on activities so that they may be prepared to make positive changes and learn to be safe drivers and responsible passengers. Through continued local outreach, Calvin High School exemplifies the positive benefits of innovative education by working to engage students directly.
